With everything but jazz shoes, our drama club is designed to give children the skills and confidence to perform through improvisation, creativity, performance and more importantly through fun!
The only drama clubs around when I was younger meant you had to turn up in shiny bin liner trousers and jazz shoes whilst singing all the words to "tomorrow" and "food glorious food". Anything other than precocious meant you simply couldn't join - I never tried as I was scared off. Our club is not just for the confident children it is for children who have the creativity and drive to perform but need guidance when it comes to performing to others.
An average drama lesson at our club will begin with games designed to enhance improvisation, imagination, performance and team work skills. The class are then set a task often in groups to create a short piece of drama fitting around a specific theme, prop, costume or title, this is then performed to the rest of the class. With each week comes confidence and creativity, hopefully resulting in your child gaining some of the most important life skills to take with them into adult life. Team work, performance craft, imagination, creativity.
